Set up

Per group: 18x10m lane, cone goal at the far end.

How it works

Attacker dribbles at the goal. Defender starts three metres behind and chases.

  • Defender chases once the attacker touches the ball.
  • Swap roles every run.

Scoring: Goal one point, steal one point.

Say this

"Sprint your first three steps""Get side on""Show them outside"

Too easy?

Longer head start, wider lane.

Too hard?

Shorten the head start.

Organising it

16 m sided area per group. With 14 kids: 2 groups of 3v3, 2 rotate in every minute. With 20 kids: 3 groups of 3v3, 2 rotate in every minute. Runs with one coach.

No sliding tackles.

Missing gear? No cones → bags or shoes mark the lane and goal. Two balls per lane keeps the queue moving.
